I have been absolutely adoring the spectacle of it being hosted here in the USA. As sports are something that genuinely bring people together, it's been heartwarming to see the shared celebratory energy of fans amongst each other in our small towns and host cities. The competition and sportsmanship is a beautiful vehicle for world culture and internationalism in our backyard. I'm seeing videos of worldly people in shared spaces I've never imagined. There are literally hoards of Norwedgians roaming around New York City doing Viking chants and pretending to row boats in the Subways. Where did they spawn from??? >> In the midst of consuming lots of World Cup content and occasionally catching games on TV, I became refamiliarized with a face I had recognized from Manchester City: Erling Haaland. He seemed oddly different than other major players in his physicality and aggression. This is also his first World Cup, and I've really appreciated his style being highlighted so well while visiting here. I believe he has a background in other sports, and it definitely shows. I like his uniqueness. >> I really appreciate this dude's overall spirit as a player. He's of proud Norse heritage and embraces a range of naturalistic training methods as well as dieting practices. I can tell he's dedicated to his work as a player in a very earnest way. Soccer is not my number 1 sport, but I'm working to get more familiar with Premiere League and other aspects of the game. I made this piece as a tribute to the national pride and unabashed grit Haaland has been displaying on the world stage.
